Gym Day Pass Checker

Gym Day Pass Checker

Pick a gym chain and how you're visiting — day pass, guest of a member, or free trial — and we'll tell you whether you can get in today, what it costs, and what to bring to the front desk.

How this tool works

We answer from a per-chain table we researched and maintain — day-pass price, guest policy, trial terms and front-desk requirements — read from each chain's own published pages: its membership FAQ, its day-pass or guest page, or its own club location pages. Every chain page on this site shows the source and the date we last checked it.

  • Corporate vs. franchise decides whether a price can be trusted. Corporate-owned chains publish one policy and we quote it as a firm figure. Franchised chains let each location set its own price, so a single number would be wrong one town over — those chains get an honest range, a "varies by location" flag, and a call-ahead warning.
  • We never invent a figure. Where a chain publishes no day-pass price anywhere official, the answer says "not published" and describes the policy instead. A number copied from a blog or an old forum post is exactly how wrong prices propagate, so we don't use them — at all.
  • "No day pass" is a real answer. Several big chains simply don't sell one — the door for a non-member is a guest privilege or a trial. The checker says so and shows the route that does exist.
  • Age and paperwork are part of the answer. Most chains require a government photo ID and a signed waiver for any non-member visit, and most set an age minimum (usually 18, sometimes 16 with a guardian). We store each chain's rule and warn you before you drive over.

Verify before you go. Gyms change prices without notice and franchise desks differ from their own chain's website. Every figure here carries its source and check date, but the front desk has the final word.

Read from each chain's own published pages. Franchised chains vary by location — ranges are what we observed, not a quote. Last updated 2026-09-04.

FAQ

How much does a gym day pass cost?

Far less predictable than most articles claim. Of the active chains we track, only a couple publish one flat walk-in price (roughly $15–$22.50), Life Time publishes a $30–$100 range set per club, and the individual franchise locations we verified charge around $13–$20. Most big chains publish no figure at all — the realistic way in is usually a free trial or a member's guest privilege, and the checker shows which of those actually exists at each chain.

Can you pay for just one day at a gym?

Often, but not everywhere. Many chains sell a walk-in or online day pass; others only admit non-members as a member's guest or on a free trial. Pick the chain above and the checker shows which of the three doors actually exists there, with the chain's own source.

Which gyms let you try for free?

Free trial passes are common — typically one to seven days — but almost always with conditions: first-time visitors only, a local address or local ID, age 18 or older, and one trial per person. The checker lists each chain's published trial terms and restrictions.

Do I need ID for a gym day pass?

Almost always yes. Chains require a government photo ID for any non-member visit — it's how they enforce first-time-only trials and local-resident rules — and you'll sign a liability waiver at the desk. Minors usually need a parent or guardian to sign.

Can I bring a guest to my gym?

It depends on your membership tier. Premium tiers at the big chains typically include guest privileges (a companion per visit, or a monthly allowance); base tiers usually don't. Guests generally must show ID, sign a waiver, and arrive with the member — pick the chain above for its exact published policy.

Why do you show a price range instead of one price?

Because for franchised chains a single number would be wrong. Each franchise location sets its own rates, so we publish the range we actually observed on the chain's own location pages, mark the chain "varies by location", and tell you to confirm with your club. Corporate chains with one published policy get one firm number.
